Personas
Representing our target students.
What This Is
A set of personas representing typical Seattle University students with different levels of campus involvement. Examples include:
- A highly active club member,
- A moderately involved student who attends a few events,
- A student who wants to get more involved but doesn't know where to start.
Why We Created It
Personas help us keep real users in mind. They highlight:
- Motivations for joining clubs,
- Pain points like missing events or not knowing where to go,
- Goals such as making friends, building resumes, or staying informed.
How It Connects in the Process
The personas translate our project description into concrete user needs and scenarios. They guided our choices during sketching and information architecture, such as:
- Emphasizing search and filtering,
- Making RSVP and directions highly visible,
- Including messaging with club organizers.
What We Changed or Learned
From working with personas, we learned to:
- Prioritize simplicity and clarity in navigation,
- Consider both student members and club organizers,
- Ensure the app supports quick 'between classes' usage.
